Sony's pretty much fucked.
Unless they stop making regular DVDs I'm sticking with them .
The whole betamax vs. vhs things was because if you want to view movies in your house you HAD to pick one or the other unless you somehow can afford projection reels. DVD supplanted VHS because it was the only major thing so there was no risk.
I'm not gonna gamble money just because I can watch more detailed movies. Detail quality is pretty relative anyway.
The VHS vs. Betamax thing is happening all over again with HD-DVD and BluRay. There's no way both will continue to exist, and chances are pretty good that HD-DVD will win.
My vote lies with HD-DVD because BluRay licks my balls.
I don't care whatsoever about HD since I don't plan on spending thousands on a TV any time soon.
bluray is stealthing into people's homes with the ps3
bluray is stealthing into people's homes with the ps3
All four of them? The PS3's sales are still terrible.
beta was better than VHS, but VHS was so well advertised that it gained superiority and development on the beta just gave-out. the same is going to happen again.
except no one is going to be able to afford it at all.
