I have a bunch of mp3s that are named well (Artist, album, track number & song name) but they have no id3 info so my ipod doesn't list them right. Is there any program that can automate the process using the file names?
you need something that actually writes the tags to the file, not just database them.
And Winamp can do that. Well, I suppose it depends which version. Otherwise, I think Audacity can.

there are 2 decent programs for this, i have the same needs because i have like.. 40gb of music.. but i keep it all organized solely based on artist/song/genre, no album or anything
but you can do all of that with Mp3tag or Tag&Rename
google each, if you have more than like 1500 songs, use tag&rename if you're trying to do it all at once, otherwise you'll have to do it for each artist on Mp3tag (although it's a better program imo)
