They reveal the new vocalist on the 30th, but that begs the question: can anyone really replace Tarja?

Now, I don't consider myself a real Nightwish fan; the only album of theirs I like is Once, due to its over the top and epic sound. Their next album is supposed to be just as epic, but I really don't think so. Tarja's voice really set them apart from others as a band, but now they've dumped her.

I sure as hell hope the new vocalist is a female with operatic singing skills, or every fan is going to go "ZOMG THIS IS NOT NIGHTWISH AD KALSDKAL KDALDKALDK~!!!!!~@!~~~~!!!one1"

Nvr4getflash Tarja.
She sucked. The band sucked.
I don't know. Nightwish wasn't that bad.
Kamelot > Nightwish
more like kam'alot
So here's the new Tarja. Annette Olzon.

Her voice is quite different from Tarja's. More high-pitched and childlike. Kind of reminds me of The Birthday Massacre, but whatever. I definitely liked Tarja better, as her voice was more operatic and held some kind of "maturity" that really gave some power to the music. Some of the instrumentals in the audio samples are sounding pretty good, at least. There's also some male vocals that (thankfully) sound better than they have in the past.

Here's your first listen to the new Nightwish. The first four tracks are the ones you're interested in:
