You could buy the Zune premium headphones, they're pretty good. They're like $40, but you can find them for 40% off at a CompUSA if there's one near you.
I have a Logitech Premium USB headset that has pretty good sound and an excellent mic I've heard. Also, has it's own sound processing so it still sounds good if you have a shitty sound card. Retails about $50 but I got it for 20 from my friend.

I just bought Sennheiser X500 for $20 and I'm really satisfied.
Sennheisers are hot, but are better if you're looking for stereo monitors or something, since they specialize in studio stuff. That's a pretty nice deal you got on them, though. For simple mp3 player listening purposes, I wouldn't go for such a high-end brand.
I've lost all faith in Sony.
EVERY SINGLE PAIR of headphones I've had from them have either fallen apart, or died. EVERY SINGLE ONE.
ive had tonnes of earphones like sony, panasonic, etc and the only ones that still work are the koss ones that have gotten continual use for years without any major issues. only the foam on the ear pieces is starting to wear down.
